Typical shell-length 25 mm. Lives intertidally amongst living clams such as mussels and oysters, especially on very sheltered shores.
Endemic to southeastern and southwestern Australia (TAS, VIC, SA and WA). In Tasmania this is a widespread species; commonly beached.
