Typical shell-length 9.0 mm. Variable in colouration, but small size, coarse ribbing and narrow outline are characteristic. Lives subtidally amongst rocks and seaweed.
Occurs all around Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC, SA, WA and NT); also elsewhere in the Indo-West Pacific. In Tasmania this is a widespread species, but only common in the N.
